Haiti Fundraiser at The Roundhouse

We were asked to take part in the charity fundraiser at The Roundhouse in Feb 2010.

We project managed the event and did the live camera mixing to screen and brought in and ran the camera crew.

The kit was supplied by QED through Pod Bluman and they generously gave us 2 x 18k Christie HD projectors and a grassvalley mixer which was supported by an Edirol vision mixer.

All the crew and equipmment were provided free of charge.

Padova, Italy with Jon Hopkins

After a lack of sleep at the Haiti fundraiser, Jim headed off for Padova just outside Venice for the first of his gigs in 2010 with Jon Hopkins.

Playing in a cinema (we like the big screens) at Nu Fest, the audience really took in the visuals although a few wanted to get up and dance towards the end of the set. We ended up in a nightclub somewhere on an industrial estate which was described by text to us as we arrived as “like a school disco, only worse” not far off the mark to be honest, although its all down to experience!

Haiti Fundraiser at The Roundhouse

Last thursday we setup and ran the AV at The Haiti Fundraiser at The Roundhouse in Camden, with us taking a break from live visuals and mixing cameras to the screen.

All the kit was supplied by QED via Pod Bluman and they gave us HD christie projectors amongst other kit. Also thanks to Edirol who supplied us with a vision mixer. The line up included Paul Wellar, KT Tunstall, Bombay Bycycle Club, The Magic Numbers, Mr Hudson and our own favourite Seasick Steve.

Crew can be difficult to get on this sort of job as it ended up being a 22hr day, but Andrew Corrigan and Steve G supplied hard graft with humour and an ability to film for 6 hours straight!

The total raised so far is £91,000.

The Big Chill

We have been working for The Big Chill since 1999. Over the last 10 years it has evolved from being a small festival for around 1500 people into the internationally renowned 40,000 capacity event it is today.

As Described, in our roles of AV Management and Visual Programming have covered all key areas of the event’s technical and creative video provision and associated artist visual logistics.

This comprises implementation of projector and screen set ups , looking after artist tech riders, provision of crewing across numerous stages, and Main Stage (multi- screen) LED wall installation.

We have also supplied live camera crew / IMAG facilities to the outdoor stages and in our role as Visual Programmer source internationally renowned visual artists to perform live sets to the music programme,

Jon Hopkins-Coldplay Tour

Jon Hopkins approached us and asked us to design and implement a visual system which he could take on the Coldplay Tour in 2008 taking in over 60 global dates

The footage was supplied to us and we implemented a system taking midi signals from Abelton and syncing it to the preprepared footage that was run on a seperate visual laptop.

The audio and video were then controlled by Jon.
